's son Brandon Lee has said the documentary he produced about his mother has already positively impacted her life.

, the project allowed her to discuss her life with searing candor, baring her soul about a number of traumatic events, including her history of sexual assault and the sex tape scandal that made her infamous around the world.

The movie was a hit with the critics and has now landed two Emmy nominations, including for best documentary or nonfiction special.

Brandon, 28, whom the Baywatch star shares with her ex-husband , shared that the public perception of his mother now appears to have changed.

Pamela's friend Courtney Love blasted the show as 'vile' and 'outrageous,' writing on social media: 'My heart goes out to Pammy further causing her complex trauma.'

She spared a few choice words for the leading lady of the show, adding: 'And shame on Lily James whoever the f*** she is.'
